Biology
This species is defined by its distinctive yellow and black bands across the body. As it grows older, the black bands often break into spots. This diurnal frog, fiercely territorial, is poisonous. Its bright coloration is a warning of danger to potential predators.

Curiosities
Despite its small size, this frog forms highly territorial groups that will attack neighbouring groups with surprising ferocity. This groups also produce loud calls to warn off rivals.
