Silver moony

Biology

The silver moony normally inhabits the brackish waters of mangrove swamps and sometimes enters streams. It is a territorial fish, which occasionally appears in small groups that swim next to coastal reefs rich in mud and slime. The juveniles are distinguished by two dark vertical spots, which disappear in adulthood.

Curiosities

The silver moony is perfectly adapted to life in the mangrove swamp, as it is able to live in fresh or salt water.
