Striped cowfish

Biology

The striped cowfish can be found in rocky reefs or in seagrass beds. Males have an orange body with stripes and blue spots, while females and juveniles have a lighter coloration, ranging from orange to brown, with an irregular pattern of brown or white stripes.

Curiosities

This species blows jets of water onto the sediment, revealing the invertebrates, which it feeds on.
